Archaeological remains have been discovered in the locality of “Les Cloubeaux ” in the commune of Billy (Loir-et-Cher) during preliminary investigations along the route of the A85 (Tours-Vierzon) motorway project. The complementary evaluation has permitted study of two occupation phases, one concerning Gallo-Roman remains, the other a small medieval building. The earlier site covers around 2500 m2. It is surrounded by shallow pits forming a squared enclosure that does not lie entirely within the motorway project. The space contains about twenty structures, some of which are funerary in nature, but which have no particular organised layout.
